Kids can design their own creature from scratch or color in one of Elfie’s pre-drawn creatures—perfect for younger artists. Parents can order a custom T-shirt featuring their child’s art or enter the monthly Magical Creature Contest for a chance to win prizes and join Elfie’s enchanted world.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive a magical link with easy, step-by-step instructions to guide you through the entire project.

Draw & Create

This is where the magic happens! Your child will invent, draw, and color their very own magical creature — and they can give it a special (or silly!) name, a magical power, or even write a little story or rhyme if inspiration strikes.

👉 Younger artists can print one of Elfie’s pre-drawn creatures, inspired by her book Magical Creatures, to color and personalize — making this activity fun for all ages.

Optional: Upload Artwork, Order & Enter the Contest

Use your magical link (sent via email) to upload your child’s drawing and bring their art to life on a custom T-shirt. Pricing starts at $29.99

  • Ordering is optional — you can still participate in the free art project or join the monthly contest without making a purchase.

  • If you do order, parents and family members can buy extra copies to proudly celebrate and wear their little artist’s masterpiece.

  • You’ll also have the option to enter your child’s creature into the Magical Creature Contest for a chance to win magical prizes and be featured in Elfie’s enchanted gallery.
How to Enter

Your child’s creature can win magical prizes and be featured in Elfie’s enchanted gallery!

Participation is completely optional — your family can enjoy the project without entering. Even if you don’t enter, your child’s creation can still become a custom T-shirt or other magical merchandise — the contest is just one extra way to celebrate their creativity!

But for those who want a little extra sparkle, here’s how it works:

Upload Your Creature

Sign up using the form to receive your magical link. This link lets you download the Instructions PDF and, when your child’s creature is ready, upload their artwork.

Choose to Enter the Contest

When uploading your child’s creature, check the box if you’d like it to be considered for the monthly contest. Participation is completely optional!

Celebrate the Magic

Each month, one winning creature is chosen to receive a magical prize and be featured in Elfie’s enchanted gallery. Imagine your child seeing their creation brought to life and shared with the magical world!

Art on a Shirt Prize!

🌟 One Special Winner will have their child’s artwork come to life on a Custom Limited-Edition Winner’s T-Shirt — a one-of-a-kind keepsake!

The winner receives their shirt for free! Parents can even order matching shirts for friends and family to join in on the fun.

  • You only pay if you choose to order a custom T-shirt or other merchandise.

  • Entering the monthly contest is also free and optional.

  • There are no hidden fees — just pure magical creativity for your little artist!

No! Ordering is completely optional. You and your child can still participate in this FREE project and submit their creature for the contest without purchasing.

Yes! You can order additional T-shirts for family or friends to celebrate your child’s masterpiece.

T-shirts are available in kids’ and adult sizes so everyone can join the fun.

Once the artwork is submitted orders typically ship within 5–7 business days.

Absolutely! T-shirt orders are independent of contest entry.

  • Open to children ages 4–12.

  • Parents or legal guardians must submit the entry on behalf of their child.

  • One entry per child per month is allowed.

  • Open to participants in the United States.

  • Entries are accepted on a rolling monthly basis.

  • Each month’s contest closes at 11:59 PM PST on the last day of the month.

  • Submissions received after the deadline will be considered for the following month’s contest.

  • A small panel of Elfie’s Magical Judges will select winners based on:

    • ✨ Creativity & Imagination

    • 🎨 Effort & Originality

    • 💫 Optional rhyme or story adds extra magic, but is not required.

  • Each month, one standout entry will be chosen to win a prize, but all entries will be featured on Elfie’s website or social media with your permission.

(No purchase is necessary. Prizes have no cash value.)

Winners will be emailed and called on the 10th of each following month. Once confirmed, their winning magical creatures will be announced (with first name and artwork only) through:

  • ✨ Elfie’s Website
  • 💌 Email Newsletter
  • 📱 Elfie’s social media channels

By submitting an entry, you agree that:

  • You are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose artwork is submitted.

  • You grant permission to Elfie / Color Me Elf to feature the artwork, the child’s first name, creature name and rhyme on its website, email campaigns, and social media.

  • All artwork remains the property of the artist, but you grant Elfie / Color Me Elf a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to display, share, adapt, and remix the submission in any future stories, books, products, or magical adventures.

  • Personal contact information will never be shared publicly and is used only to contact winners and share contest updates.

  • Elfie’s team reserves the right to disqualify any inappropriate or incomplete submissions.

  • No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
